EU Relations

EU legislation has a great impact on the Danish municipalities. A survey issued by KL in 2020 concludes that the EU affects 43 per cent of the agenda items at local council meetings.

KL - Local Government Denmark's prioritized EU-initiatives

Every year, KL - Local Government Denmark prioritizes which new initiatives based on the work programmes of the European Commission that are important for the Danish municipalities. Representation in European bodies and organisations

KL - Local Government Denmark is represented in several European bodies and organisations. Read more about KL’s European work.

Brussels Office

Since 1992, KL has had an office in Brussels located near the EU institutions. The purpose of the office is to organise and coordinate our interests in relation to the EU institutions.
